Skip to main contentPick the Right Structure for Your Booking
Oskar gives you two powerful ways to organize what customers book: Services and Events. Each is designed for a different booking style, so you can choose what fits your business best.
-
Services — Flexible and Duration‑Based
Services are activities tied to a resource’s availability. Customers pick a time slot based on when the resource is open. A service could be a 30‑minute haircut, a 2‑hour bike rental, or a 90‑minute coaching session. Services adjust to your resource’s schedule — if the resource is free, the service can be booked. Set them up via chat at oskaros.com or in the app under Left Menu > MANAGE > Services. Make sure each service is linked to at least one published resource so it appears on your Booking Page.
-
Events — Fixed Date and Time with Capacity
Events are scheduled sessions that happen at a specific date and time, often with a group of attendees. Think “Wine Tasting on Friday, 20 spots at $25” or “Yoga Flow every Monday at 6 PM.” Admins pre‑schedule events with a start date, end date (or number of occurrences) and optional ticket types like General Admission or VIP. Clients book a spot rather than choosing their own time. Create and manage events via chat or in Left Menu > MANAGE > Events. You can set capacity limits, ticket types, and waitlists for overflow.
Which Should You Use?
- Use Services when clients choose their own appointment times based on the resource’s calendar. Perfect for one‑on‑one bookings (haircuts, massages) or rentals (bikes, meeting rooms). Oskar blocks the resource automatically so there’s no overlap.
- Use Events when you set the time and clients join a session with multiple attendees. Perfect for classes, workshops, trainings, or special experiences. Oskar manages capacity, ticket types, and waitlists so you don’t have to.
On the Roadmap
Client‑driven recurring service appointments (like “Haircut every Tuesday at 6 PM”) are planned but not yet supported. Today, recurring bookings apply only to events (up to 100 occurrences). Stay tuned for updates!
If your services aren’t showing, double‑check that they’re linked to a published resource in Left Menu > MANAGE > Resources > Services.
