They make sure Oskar tracks every individual unit’s availability correctly, even when they all belong to one main resource.
Why it matters
- Accurate tracking: Each unit has its own availability, preventing double-bookings.
- Simplified booking pages: Clients only see the main resource (e.g. “Single Room”), not ten separate entries.
- Flexible setup: You can choose whether Oskar assigns units automatically or lets clients pick a specific one.
Step-by-step setup
-
Go to Resources
Left Menu → MANAGE → Resources -
Select your main resource
Open the resource (e.g. “Single Room” or “Bike Rental”). -
Open the Booking Capacity tab
Change Booking Type to Multiple Units (Tracked Units). -
Add sub-resources
Add each unit individually (e.g. “Room 1”, “Room 2”, “Room 3”) and save.
Each sub-resource will be tracked separately in the calendar. -
Choose assignment mode
- Automatic assignment (default): Oskar automatically assigns a free sub-resource to each booking.
- Manual selection: Toggle “Allow sub-resource selection” if you want clients to pick a specific one (e.g. “Tennis Court 3”).
- Admin override: When creating internal bookings, you can always manually select or change the assigned sub-resource.
Managing sub-resources
- Timeline view: In the calendar, sub-resources appear vertically under their parent resource — ideal for spotting free slots or overlaps at a glance.
- Reports & analytics: Sub-resources count toward the same category as their parent, so performance insights remain aggregated.
- Editing & archiving: You can rename or archive individual sub-resources without affecting the main resource.
Oskar’s sub-resource system keeps your inventory tidy, your bookings accurate, and your management effortless — whether you rent ten bikes, run twenty hotel rooms, or manage four tennis courts.
