In Oskar, resources are the physical things or people your clients reserve — rooms, equipment, vehicles, or team members.
They’re the who or what behind every booking.

Why It Matters

  • Prevent double-bookings — Oskar automatically blocks times when a resource is busy.
  • Set it once, use it everywhere — Availability, pricing, and rules are defined once and applied consistently.
  • See what’s in demand — Identify your most booked rooms, people, or tools to optimise scheduling and promotion.

Core Settings

  • Name & Description — Give each resource a clear title (e.g. Studio A, Conference Room B, or Anna Müller).
Add a short description for clients, and use the extended field for internal notes.
  • Type & Images — Categorise as Room, Equipment, Staff, Vehicle, or Other.
Add an image or icon so clients can easily recognise it on the booking page.
  • Availability & Capacity — Define when the resource can be booked and how many people or bookings it can handle:
    • Single Booking – One booking per time slot (massages, consultations).
    • Shared Booking – Several clients in the same slot (coworking desks, open gym).
    • Multiple Units (Tracked) – Identical units tracked individually (bikes, hotel rooms, meeting rooms).
  • Pricing & Buffers — Set default prices, optional peak/off-peak rates, and buffers for setup or cleaning.
Leave pricing blank if it should follow the selected service instead.
  • Groups & Location — Organise resources into groups (e.g. Meeting Rooms, Treatment Rooms, Vehicles) and assign a location.
The location appears automatically in client confirmations.
  • Visibility & Status — Control visibility with the Publish Resource toggle.
    • Published resources (green dot) appear on your booking page.
    • Draft resources (grey dot) stay hidden until you’re ready.
    • Archived resources remain in your records but can’t be booked.
  • Translations — Add multilingual names and descriptions directly in the editor.
Oskar automatically detects the client’s browser language and displays the right version.

Step-by-Step

  1. Open Resources in the left menu.
View all rooms, equipment, vehicles, or people with their status, capacity, and location.
  2. Create a new resource.
Click New Resource, enter the name, select the type, and add a short description.
Upload an image or pick an icon.
  3. Add details.
Assign a group, location, and extended description.
Add translations if needed and decide whether to publish immediately.
  4. Set availability.
Define the days and times when bookings are possible.
Add time blocks (e.g. morning / afternoon shifts) or mark closed days.
Apply buffers before and after bookings if needed.
  5. Choose capacity & pricing.
Select Single, Shared, or Multiple Units.
Enter the capacity or number of units and optional price or deposit.
  6. Add rules (optional).
Define booking windows, minimum or maximum durations, and limits for consecutive days.
  7. Save & publish.
Click Save, then toggle Publish when ready.
Drafts stay hidden until you make them live; archived resources remain for reporting.

Resources are the backbone of your booking system.
Set them up thoughtfully — Oskar takes care of the rest.
